Hi,

I'm trying to install "Enterprise Library 4.1 - Oct. 2008". But I have a problem because when the MSI installation starts, a popup appear telling that “The archive is either in unknown format or damaged”.

I suspect that I am supposed to update my Windows installer somehow, but I’m not sure how. If I go to: “http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f9f4&displaylang=en” and locate the file supposed to match my system (Windows6.0-KB942288-v2-x86.msu) it just says that it does not apply to my system. (Win-Vista Home Premium SP2, 32-bit)

Hope that someone can guide me toward a solution.

Thank you!

Try right clicking on the installer and select install or Open With and select Windows Installer.  You may be in the same situation as with this one - http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-windows-vista-general/138991-vista-home-premium-play-all-doesnt-work.html

Also, maybe your default program that opens the msi file is not the "Windows Installer" program, it could be something else such as archive programs. You can change the default program that opens the Windows installer package thru the file's property. You can also use the command line to run the installer. just run a command prompt, go to the directory of the .msi file and execute the command: msiexec /i "Enterprise Library 4.1 - October 2008.msi"
