Hi

I am after some guidance on Configuration and wondered if there was an Enterprise Library Configuration Access Block.

I have configuration information which comes from different sources i.e. config files and database and wondered if there was a block which brings different sources together into one interface.

Thanks

The answer is that there is no out of the box configuration application block. In the past (about 10 years ago) Enterprise Library had a Configuration Application Block but that was removed when similar functionality was brought into the .NET Framework.

You may be able to use some resources to construct your solution. For example, the thread Additive merge of different config sources? has some good information/code samples for merging config sources.

Also of interest to you might be Enterprise Library 5.0 Sql Configuration Source. It is Enterprise Library specific but might be modified for other scenarios.
