Hi

Have tested data access application block and it is interesting to know that it requires few lines of code to play with data.

we have a Framework (similar to NHibernate) developed In house development team. This Framework does generates simple SQL statements and do meet other data access requirements.

Question 1
Is it possible to use Data Access Application blocks to serve data access needs without passing SQL statement? In other words 'Is it mandatory to provide SQL statement to use Data Access Application blocks'?

Yes, I read this block can be enhanced further, in order to meet my above mentioned requirement where should this can be done?

Question 2
In Hands on labs all the exercises are used stand alone Windows Forms application. Is there any area for Web apps (ASP.NET)? Ofcourse the same can be used within asp.net applicaitons as well .

Your input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi,

Question 1:

AFAIK, you would need to supply SQL statement or Stored procedure to use DAAB. For extending DAAB please see this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd203157.aspx .

Question 2:
Yes, it is only a Windows Forms Application. Please check this if you can get something from the demo project from here : http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/030905-1.aspx

Thank you for your information.

I would like to see few more articles on Enterprise Library with ASP.NET that may include code and other resources.

At the moment I am trying to implement Exception Handling within ASP.NET web app.
