I am getting the same error but my scenario is that i create a Windows Forms Control Library Project and in that when i create a user control and do validation i get the above error but when i add a simple form in the windows application it works fine.

Is it not valid if i create a user control in WindowsFormsControlLibrary and do some validation?

Hi,

do you use the SourceTypeName of the validation provider for this? According to this blog, it might have been caused by wrong fully qualified class name. http://codebetter.com/blogs/david.hayden/archive/2007/01/24/Validation-Application-Block-Presentation-and-New-Features-_2D00_-Enterprise-Library-3.0.aspx . Please have a check.
