Stored Procedure Performance using ADO vs an ORM

I am rewriting a desktop application against a SQL Server Express database.  The database already has a hundred or more crud sprocs and functions which have been running for years.  The syntax to access those sprocs is much easier to write using either L2S or EF4 rather than ADO.Net with DAAB.  But will I be sacrificing performance (in general)?

I read that EF is slower than using ADO.NET.  However, there are some articles which helps you in performance tuning when using EF.  I haven't worked on performance-related tasks or problems so I can't offer any expert advice on this.  You can find though several discussions around this topic, here are some which I come across:
