Lib 2.0. Configuration System Failed to Initialize

Topics: Logging Application Block

I'm doing something VERY basic. All, I'm trying to do is use the logging functionality. In my project I've added references to

  • Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common
  • Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data
  • Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging

Even though this code is VERY small, I was hoping that someone might give me some insight as to why this is happening. Here is my code. I have a config file that I used from a previous application. It contains logging information in it.

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Data;
using System.Drawing;
using System.Text;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using System.Configuration;

using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging;
using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging;using;
using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging;

namespace EnterpriseLibStuff
public partial class Form1 : Form
public Form1( )
InitializeComponent( );

private void button1_Click( object sender, EventArgs e )
LogEntry lge = new LogEntry( );
lge.Message = textBox1.Text;
Logger.Write( lge );
catch( Exception ex )
textBox1.Text = ex.Message;
textBox1.Text = ex.InnerException.Message;

You should provide details about your configuration file and the nature of the failure (e.g. exception message and stack trace) in order to get help.
