The documentation file doesn't work. The content tree populates, but when I click on an item in the tree, the reading pane remains blank.

I work in a highly secured environment where Group Policy prevents the use of chm files. Can Microsoft provide users with an alternative to chm files?

Patterns & Practices Team did an awesome job. I've been using the Unity and Security blocks for about a year now and I am very fond of them! Keep upt the good work. Cheers!

Solid framework without a doutd! We used EntLib as a one stop shop to address cross-cutting concerns for many small projects up to serious enterprise level applications requiring customisation. Well documented and very well supported (we receive instant reply to of our questions). The EntLib Developer Guide is also a must for all the "whys" and "how".
by jbourgault on Jun 13, 2011 at 9:53 PM
Bloated, overdesigned, frequently incoherent, poor integration with Unity (Unity poor itself, but this is an other question). Most usable caseses (logging, exception handling) are well covered by .net framework itself, so any programmer could implement lightweight abstraction layer over it - it's much faster and more efficient. Gave two stars instead of one cause it compiles and actually works.
by schernichkin on Jun 7, 2011 at 8:28 AM
Excellent library! To unblock the chm in Windows 7, download the CHM, right click it and press “unblock” at bottom of attributes window.
by Danimal521 on May 12, 2011 at 3:11 PM
>Download does not work (chm file). Where are the binaries? Unblocking works, Binaries found. Downloaded because of Validation Block, but decided not to use it. Support for DataAnnotations is "half-baked" - should map attributes to internal validators instead of just using the embedded validation logic - MVC also maps to own attributes/validators.

As usual, excellent tool. I've been using it for a long time now and it's so cool. However I'm giving just 4 stars because the new configuration console looks weird, and not so intuitive to use (IMHO). I prefer the previous one, much easier to understand, but hey, that's just my opinion. :-)

Great job as always, and to those who can't figure out how to open the help file... unblock the file before rating down a release. It's not that complicated.
by jeff_winn on Feb 17, 2011 at 11:11 PM
The .chm file does not work. It says "Navigation to the webpage is cancelled".

Can you provide mono build version?
by kerryjiang on Dec 6, 2010 at 2:40 AM
Where's the download button link? I'll I've been able to download are CHM files and documentation. Why do you have a Downloads page for "Enterprise Library 5.0 - April 2010" but you don't provide a direct link to actually download it? Finally found it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=bcb166f7-dd16-448b-a152-9845760d9b4c&displaylang=en

If you can't see the CHM file content on Windows7,Pelease check the file attributes,It's a problem with the file security. Will, first click you right mouse, and open the file attributes dialogue. Then, you can see it has a "unlock" button, click the button and close the dialogue. In fact,it's doesn't matter with the file save place!I had solve the problem in my computer!Wish you good luck!
by Athson on Aug 26, 2010 at 1:08 AM
On Windows 7 I had to move the CHM file to the desktop before it displayed the contents.

The documentation is quite good. However, I cannot read it on my corporate machine due to an MS Security update that prevents HTML Help from working. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896905/

I'm not able to open the file , please help...
by ravikumargunge08 on Apr 16, 2013 at 6:33 AM
for all having issues with seeing CHM file documentation. After downloading to your desktop or desktop\download directory, copy it to your any c: or d: directory and open CHM file. It should work fine. Due to security reasons, file doesnt open from any path under DESKTOP folder.
