How to read data from custom source for AuthorizationRuleProvider

Hi, I am trying to use Security Application Block. This is my first experience with this so please forgive if I missed something obvious.

I am using VS2005 with EntLib 2.0 (also 3.0 has same).

I used the Hands on lab and learned how default AuthorizationRuleProvider reads the rules from app.config file.

I have the rules in same format: "R:Developer OR R:Manager".

However I have these rules coming from a different source (e.g. remote webservice). I can get a string[] ruleList.

Should I create a custom AuthorizationRuleProvider? Or is there an easy way to provide the source of this information. I can try to refactor the ruleList if needed.

I saw CustomAuthorizationRuleDataProvider, but I could not understand its usage.

Are there any samples that can get me started.

I will appreciate any suggestions as this is urgent and I am stuck.

Hi Jack,

I have a same issue that you faced months ago. Can you please let me know how you solved the issue?
