Using Enterprise Manager 3.0 - I open my web.config file and set the the database and server properties and then save the file. Whenever I reopen the config file that was saved, it seems that all of the connection settings do not appear to be saved. Any ideas?

I am not sure why that would be the case.

Are you using the VS-Integrated Configuration Editor or the stand-alone tool?

Are you creating a new connection string and saving its settings?

By default a LocalServer Connection String may show up in the configuration tool which is a configuration string that is normally in your Machine.config file and read by default. If you try to change it via the configuration tool:

1) It won't actually change. It is read only from the tool although it looks like you can change it.
2) It won't show up in your Web.config because it is in your Machine.config.

If that isn't the problem, try loading a Web.config / App.config in the quickstarts and see if you can save and modify those.

Regards,

Dave
