EntLib 4.1 and Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2?

Dec 11, 2009 at 12:38 AM

I already found the thread for Windows 7 and EntLib 4.1 with no confirmations on if they work together.

To add another variable, has anyone successfully tried the latest EntLib with VS 2010 Beta 2?

I last used EntLib when it was 3.0 or 3.1 so i'll be installing VS 2008 I guess and 4.1 on Windows 7 to get familiarized witht he basics again.  Then I might try it with VS 2010 but any feedback is appreciated.

I suppose entlib projects would work in Beta 2, see Chris Tavares' reply here -  http://entlib.codeplex.com/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=63326

Ok, since it seems VS 2010 can live side by side as with previous versions of VS, I suppose I'll take a chance.

I'm just worried that since there was no confirmation of EntLib 4.1 being 100% ok with Windows 7 (but I assume it is), I didn't want to add more fuel to the fire since I'm a but rusty with all this to begin with (yep, putting my tech hat back on and prepping for interviews :P)

While we haven't done any formal testing with Entlib 4.1 against Win7, pretty much the entire Entlib team is running Win7 and we haven't seen any issues.

As far as VS2010, we will be making sure the release version of Entlib 5 works, but we haven't really started that work yet.
