If you were going to deploy an application at a customer site and wanted to centralize the connection data to various databases. Would you use the file configuration source? (Create an App.Config and have it point to a second/central config file).

Does the system configuration source even permit you to have multiple workstations all sharing the same config file?

IS there a better way or configuration source to use in order to roll out the config files as mentioned above?

I would use the FileConfigurationSource or some other configuration source that implements IConfigurationSource and is located in a central location. SystemConfigurationSource uses the application's configuration file and there is only 1 application configuration file per application.

You can create your own configuration source if SystemConfigurationSource and FileConfigurationSource are not preferred. There is an SqlConfigurationSource Example that comes in the quickstarts.
