Handling database deadlocks

I was wondering if there is any support for an automatic rerun of a stored procedure that has been declared the victim of a deadlock?

I'm working with an app that has been running for a few years.  Now the users are experiencing deadlocks from time to time and the application lacks a control mechanism

to catch deadlock messages from the database and rerunning the stored procedure.

We use enterprise library to execute the stored procedure. Not sure what version, but its for .Net 1.1.

We are going to upgrade to .net 2.0 (I know, its old) and I know that there will be some code changes to get enterprise library to work again.

Since we will have to make these code changes, we thought we would take care of the deadlock mechanism as well. But first I want to ask this question to see if it already is implemented in some version of Enterprise Library.

No support for that.
