Using the MSMQ Distributor Service

Topics: Logging Application Block

We were planning to use the MSMQ Logging distributor service to centralize our logging from our web servers in the DMZ to our application servers. I have been unable to configure the logging distributor to read a MSMQ on our web servers in the DMZ. They are not on Active directory. Apparently i can configure as shown in the documentation with the queue on the internal application layer server. But with this architecture it seems that we would miss logging any errors when the network or server that has the queue goes down.  It seems a better architecture would be to log to a local MSMQ and have a distributor read them remotely. I am i missing something here or is this just a limitation.

Thanks

Hi,

If the server is that has the queue would be down, it will still recieve the message the time that the server will be up again. You can have a look at this post, this might help:
