FormattedMessage Truncated

Topics: Logging Application Block

Is it possible to get at the individual properties within the message logged when an exception is thrown using the TextFormatter?

I'm finding that my FormattedMessage is being truncated because of excess error information that isn't useful.

Can anyone help? Is it even possible?

Hi,

What is your objective? Are you going to remove the excess error so that the formattedMessage will not be truncated? Are you logging programmatically?

I want to capture certain parts of the Message Property, such as the ExceptionType, StackTrace and WindowsIdentity.

I'm logging through the Enterprise Library Exception Handling Logging application block.

I'm hoping there is an easy way to do it via the template property of the TextFormatter

Hi,

I dont think it is possible with the text formatter. If you want to capture specific data from the exception, you can try doing the logging programmatically so you have full control on the data that will be logged.
