New application block dll location

We've created a new application block and use it to add our section to the app.config file via the enterprise library console.  The dll's we create need to be copied into the Ent. Lib. bin folder before we can utilize them.  Is there some way the Ent. Lib. console can probe our application folder for these dll's rather than copying them to the bin folder?

Hi Roger,

There's no way for the stand-alone tool to scan other folders without some considerable modifications. With the VS-integrated version you can define a new configuration set that points to a new folder where both EntLib's and your binaries reside, but you still need to keep all the binaries together.

Changing this behavior, in case you want to give it a try, requires updating the ConfigurationDesignManagerDomain to recibe a collection of paths to scan in the Load() method and the ConfigurationUIHierarchy which owns a domain to provide these probing paths based on the information available from its RootNode. To make this change you can recompile EntLib or create a design-time-only version that references the signed runtime binaries and only build your version of the design time projects.
