EntLib 3.1 documentation?

Hello,

I installed Enterprise Library 3.1 (which is the version my company is currently using).
I'm trying to find documentation on the Rolling Flat Trace Listener options.
* The F1 key doesn't do anything in the Enterprise Library Configuration editor.
* The "start menu / all programs / Microsoft patterns & practices / Enterprise Library 3.1 - May 2007 / Enterprise Library Documentation" link is broken (I get a missing shortcut).
* I found documentation files in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Enterprise Library 3.1 - May 2007\Docs" but couldn't figure out how to view them, how do you view an HxS file?
* I found and downloaded a chm file from http://www.codeplex.com/entlib/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=4474 but when I try and open it I get a "The address is not valid" error message, why?
* I tried searching MSDN online, but the EntLib 3.1 documentation link from the MSDN site http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480453.aspx seems to take me to some (phishing?) web site http://www.gorillatraining.com/en-us/library/cc309060.aspx  I looked through those online docs but didn't see anything talking about what the trace listener configuration options do.

Just wondering if someone could help point me to where I could find some documenation that is actually viewable?

If not, I guess I'll just dig through the source code :)

Thanks,
Greg

Hello,

I was able to read and view the Enterprise Library chm file okay on my Windows Server 2003 machine.
For some reason when I try and open that same chm file on my Vista machine I get that "The address is not valid" error I mentioned earlier.
FWIW, I found what I needed in the "Logging Application Block/Developing Using the Logging Application Block/Logging Application Block Properties" section.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi,

On certain operating systems, downloaded chm files need to be explicitly unlocked after download. Regarding the phishing issue, never heard about it; looks like a local issue.

Thanks for the link about explicitly unlocking after download; very helpful to know!
