Secure LoggingService with Forms Authentication

Does anybody know how I can use the RemoteServiceTraceListener in a Silverlight client that logs to a LoggingService that is secured with forms authentication?

I already have a valid authorization cookie (stored in a CookieContainer) from an System.Web.ApplicationServices.AuthenticationService but I'm not sure how I can inject that into the HttpRequest to the LoggingService.

Alternatively, is there an easy way to pass credentials to the LoggingService?

Hi,

I believe you can go in to the source code of the Silverlight integration pack and modify the behavior of the RemoteServiceTraceListener.cs file, specifically in the TraceData method; what you can do is to write a method and pass in the credentials of the user and if the user is authenticated then allow the TraceData method to run.

My two bits. :-)
