Hi there

I have a big problem with logging on win 2008 server. My app just doesn´t logg anything on win 2008 event viewer. I googled a bit and found that the solution was in here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323076 .

Well ...the thing is, i am no system administrator and now o need to be able to read and set permissions on my Log. Does anyone know about an utiliy for doing this?

The log name is SIGAS and them source is SIGASWeb

As also stated in one of our FAQ - Why are messages not logged?

When deploying your application, you should include an installer class to create your event sources. For development, a quick solution is to use Windows PowerShell. Run an elevated PowerShell process, and use a command somthing like this: "new-eventlog -source MyApp -logname Application".

As for the installer class refer to this site - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/k1wask0c(v=VS.100).aspx. Hope this helps.

You're going to need to run some code from an administrator account to set this up. Typically this is done by creating an MSI to install the web app and having your admin install it. You can also do it from the command line using Powershell pretty easily - but again, you need admin permissions to do it. Do you have the admin permissions, or can you get help from someone who does?
