Encrypting a column of data in sql server

Hi Sarah

1. Can we apply cryptography application block at the databse level i.e can we encrypt a datacolumn in table using cryptography application block

2. Can we apply crytography aplication block in vb6.0

1.  Applying encryption at the database level means using the encryption features of your database provider, you can't use entlib at that level.  You can use the Cryptography Application Block in your code and passing the encrypted value in stored procedure parameters.

2.  Enterprise Library in general requires .NET Framework which is not available in Visual Basic 6.0.  However, I found this article which might enable you to use it in Visual Basic.  (I haven't tried it)
