Ent lib for .Net 1.1 and SQL Server 2005

Hi,

I have a legacy software running on asp.net 1.1 and uses SQL Server 2000. We plan to migrate to SQL Server 2005. Our original code written in VS2003 extensively uses Enterprise Library for .Net 1.1 (June 2005 release). I would like to know if the same code would work if we move our database from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005.

Appreciate any guidance.

Thanks,

kd

Yes, I believe it would still work.  EntLib just sits on top of ADO.NET and I've seen posts on people using VS 2003 with SQL Server 2005.  You just can't take advantage of new features of SQL Server 2005 of course.

Hi Sarah (Others)

Do you know if Ent lib 1.1 would work with SQL Server 2005/2008 Express editions?

Thanks.

Express is just the same database engine with limiters added to the code. If it works with the full DB it'll work with express.
