hello everyone,

need to ask something: at the moment i'm thinking that if my application is ready for production then i must create an installer and distribute it to clients..what if something need to change when goes live in i need to replace old app.config in whole client? or any 'smarter' option?

PS: clickonce is definitely is the right option but my development and production is at different location..what to do then?

Hi Erick,

In my own opinion given that it is a configuration file then expect that you would need to modify it right after deploying it (especially if you have client specific configuration) and also depends on the client using your app. If what you need is more of a standalone deployment then what I have in mind is to used Windows Installer project (MSI). Though this is just my opinion and you can still try to look for other options (probably look for other advice in other forums) since anyway application deployment does not specifically focus on entlib only :-)
