Enteprise library 4 configuration in Visual Studio 2010

Aug 20, 2010 at 2:26 PM

I have migrated a solution originally developed in Visual Studio 2008 to 2010. The project uses Enterprise Library 4.1.

At the moment, I do not wish to migrate to 5.0 because we have the application deployed in production with 4.1 and I want to keep it compatible until I can migrate.

I can't see the Edit Enteprise Library Configuration right-menu item in VS 2010.

How can I get it added?

Thanks in advance.

The Entlib 4.1 editor is not integrated into VS2010. You could probably get it to work by hacking the registry, but that configuration is not supported; don't be surprised if it crashes VS2010. I would recommend using the standalone config tool instead.

Actually, I'd recommend using the standalone config tool in VS2008 too, but that's a different story. :-)

I was looking at the registry but I don't want to  hack it.

I ended up upgrading to version 5 and it seems to be working fine.
