Hi there. Has anyone created a complete sample application using EntLib3? I need to get up and running as quickly as possible and it would be awesome to have a complete application skeleton to start with.

Any information would be great!

Cheers!

G'day

Just like you I was also looking for enterprise library based sample application but couldnt find anything. The next best thing was to try the hands on labs based on Enterprise Library 2.0 to get started which can be downloaded from this site,http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-au/library/aa480453.aspx

Here is another website with some good tutorial links
http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/Channel9.EnterpriseLibraryTutorials

I strongly agree with you that P&P should provide a full n-tier application demonstrating how Enterprise Library should be used. Considering that MSDN has released a few good sample applications including Microsoft .NET PetShop and MSDN Stock Trader. At minimum P&P could have taken Microsoft .NET Petshop to demonstrate how EntLib should be used in a n tier application.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that when EntLib 4.0 comes out that there will be a sample application.
cheers

Various p&p deliverables (like WSSF and WCSF) are using parts of EntLib. So does Liteware HR (http://www.codeplex.com/LitwareHR).

ACME POS Application - a good reference implementation that uses all blocks of EntLib can be found with the recently released book by Keenan Newton - The Definitive Guide to the Microsoft Enterprise Library (http://www.apress.com/book/view/1590596552).

We are also updating HOLs to cover the Validation Application Block, the Policy Injection Application Block and Unity (our dependency injection container).

G'day Grigori,

Thanks for your reply and pointing out the useful resources. Would it be possible for you or someone else from your team to update this page on MSDN,http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-au/library/aa480453.aspx, and make a reference to the Liteware HR source code. This type of application needs to be publicised alot more.

thanks
