This question was initially logged in the Issue Tracker:

Question:

I have the MySql .Net connector installed on my machine.

Every time I open the Enterprise Library 5.0 configuration tool, the tool creates a LocalMySqlServer configuration setting, even though I have no desire to do this, and it requires me to enter a connection string. I cannot save without entering this connection string. If I enter and save, this does not appear anywhere in the web.config. Every time I open the configuration tool this happens again!

How can I get rid of this default LocalMySqlServer?

 Answer:

Here's a note from the documentation that discusses this "When you open an existing application configuration file, the Configuration Console displays the Data Access Application Block if your Machine.config file contains any connection strings.".

See documentation for more details

Ah, got it. Found <add name="LocalMySqlServer" connectionString="" /> in my machine.config and removed it and that fixed the problem. Thx!
