Ent Lib 3.1 Caching and Data, ASP.net, and PerfMon

Hello all,

I have an asp.net web app that I built using enterprise library 3.1. Everything seems to function ok. I ran the InstallServices.bat and I can see and add the perf counters related to ent lib in PerfMon. However, the perf numbers never seem to change. Most of them read "---------" for Last, Average, Minimum, and Maximum. In particular, I'm trying to see some numbers for the Caching and Data application blocks. I know that Data app block is working because data is being retrieved and saved, but the Commands Executed/sec and the Connections Opened/sec never changes. The only data I occasionally see are extremely large numbers for Cache Hit Ratio and Cache Scavenged Items (i.e. 8.1121e+012). These numbers tend to fluctuate drastically and occasionally jump back to being "----------".

Anyone have any ideas?

Are you running IIS? There is a known issue with perf counters and IIS described here http://www.codeplex.com/entlib/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=11638.

Hope this helps,
Fernando

Thanks for the link. That sounds like it is the issue I'm seeing.
